ROMSLEY and Hunnington had to settle for a seven wicket reverse when they lost out to Cutnall Green in Worcester County League Division Six.

Inserted to bat first, Romsley's early order collapsed against the bowling of Green's Brian Lavell who claimed four for 15 from a lethal nine over spell.

Romsley wicketkeeper Matt Whittlestone managed to stop the slide by scoring a vital 47 which helped Romsley reach 135 for nine from a reduced 31 overs.

Cutnall Green were always on course for victory when they replied thanks to the efforts of opening batsman James Clarke.

He went onto carry his bat for a match winning innings of 76 not out as Cutnall Green coasted to 137 for three from 24 overs.

As a result of this defeat, Romsley have slipped back to the fifth in the table.

Harvington currently head the pack on 197 points ahead of Pershore 189, Birlingham 172, Harborne 170 and Romsley who remain on 156 points.

Romsley attempt a return to winning ways on Saturday when they plays hosts to Ombersley.
