TIVIDALE manager Dave King hopes his side can show a ruthless side in front of goal after bringing in two new forwards.

Tivi have signed young strikers Dan Smith and Callum Parker to bolster their attacking options.

Smith, 20, comes from Sunday football while 19-year-old Parker is a former Kidderminster Harriers youth striker.

Dale have one of the best defensive records so far this season but need to improve their threat in the final third.

King said: "We have a solid foundation because our defence has been a real highlight.

"We have the third best defensive record at the moment and have looked very solid at the back, but we do need to work on taking our chances.

"We aren't creating loads of opportunities but we do need to take those that come our way.

"Hopefully the two lads that have come in can take their chances with us.

"They are both very raw but do have potential and something we can work with. Their is the chance here at Tividale for them if they can step up.

"We are still looking for more forward options as well but need to try and make it work within the constraints of our budget, which can make it tougher."

Tivi, who are still looking for their first win of the season, were set to welcome St Andrews to the Beeches tonight after a break in the fixture list last Saturday.

They had arranged a friendly against Wrens Nest but had to call off the clash due to a torrential downpour before kick off.

King's men will go to Malvern Town in the FA Vase this Saturday (3pm).

They are still without Craig Tibbetts (toe) and Andre Edwards (foot) but skipper Karl Gardner could return.
