BRILLIANT Cradley skipper Max Clegg has hailed his side after three wins in six days revived their season.

And he says next Monday’s home clash with Kent at Monmore has become the biggest meeting of the year.

They kept their season alive with three straight wins and 11 points last week, including two away wins at Stoke and Buxton last weekend, to make them favourites to make the play-offs.

It was a much-needed boost for the Heathens after seeing their place in the National League top four placed under severe threat.

“It’s been an awesome week and it was just what we needed,” said Clegg. “We’ve been struggling of late but we’ve managed to pick things up and do a great job.

“It’s definitely a confidence boost for everyone, and I’m proud of the boys for how they’ve picked themselves up after a bad run.

“We had a couple of bad results which knocked everyone, but we’ve come back with three important wins when we needed to.

“We’ve done the job this week, but that’s not the end – we have to keep it going now. We’ve shown we can do it and we need to keep working hard so we don’t have any more bad spells.

“Kent have been having a good season, and their track isn’t too dissimilar to ours so they aren’t going to be easy opposition.

“We’re definitely capable of beating anyone at home, but we’ll need all the boys to do their bit again and be at their best.

“We just need to take the confidence from this weekend into the Kent meeting and hopefully have another good performance.

“There are still some things to improve on, we made a few mistakes at Stoke and Buxton, but if we can keep winning to reach the play-offs then we can try to limit those mistakes.

“We’ll take each meeting at a time, but if we reach the play-offs then we know we’ll have some tough meetings.

“We don’t want to just reach the play-offs and not get anywhere, we want to show we can compete and go all the way.

“It’s important to get all the boys firing and high on confidence so if we do make the play-offs we’ll be ready for it and can do a good job.”
