Old Towcestrians 19 - 12 Old Halesonians

Hales came out from the start and took control, after 10 minutes the visitors applied pressure, fly half Chris Hooper broke through the defence to feed Carl Robinson. He passed to winger Luke Smith who outpaced the opposition to score a try, converted by Ian Briggs to lead 0 - 7.

The home side fought back and looked dangerous, they seemed to score in the corner but the try was disallowed as deemed in touch. On 22 minutes Hales again were strong, the home team had possession but a brilliant turnover in the middle of the field by Hales' Joe Collingham presented the ball to scrum half Martin Hooker to Hooper to Robinson who broke the defence for a try 0 - 12.

Shortly after Tows came back and pressure resulted in Hales' back row Adam Clayton receiving a yellow card for a high tackle. This was followed on 40 minutes by a yellow card for Smith for another high tackle which resulted in a penalty try for the home side 7 - 12 with Hales reduced to 13 men at half time.

The second half was a dour battle on a heavy pitch. The home side kept the ball and rolling mauls resulted in a try to level the score. Hales could not break the home defence, on 76 minutes the home side were more inventive and scored a converted try to seal their victory.
