YELTZ assistant boss Matt Clarke says he and manager John Hill are working hard to bring new signings to the club following a host of departures this week.

Halesowen's attacking options were first hit by the exit of top scorer Kaiman Anderson, who went back to parent club Shrewsbury after another successful loan spell at the Grove. That was soon followed by George Bowerman departure for Rushall Olympic.

Jordan Goddard has also left for Leamington, goalkeeper John Bateman has returned to AFC Wulfrunians, George Cleet has gone to Sutton Coldfield and Malcolm Melvin has left the club after finding first team starts hard to come by since the turn of the year.

New forward recruits are certainly top of Town's wishlist after Bowerman and Anderson's exit.

Despite his options being limited this season, Bowerman netted as Hales secured a fine 2-0 home win over promotion chasing Whitby Town last Saturday.

Fellow attacker Tristian Dunkley also scored against Whitby but Ethan Delaney has only just returned from injury, leaving Hales short of numbers in their forward ranks.

Clarke said: "We are working really hard to get people in now.

"I've spent the last four days on the phone speaking to people and we have made approaches for four players at the moment.

"We won't be rushing to get people because we still need to make sure they are right for this club.

"One area it is clear we need to strengthen is our forward options. We have lost two good players and need to bring people in. We are currently exploring the loan market as well."

However, the coach was delighted with Town's first win in 12 games last Saturday.

He said: "We have had a rouge time of it lately, especially with so many players leaving at the same time, but out of adversity came a positive.

"I thought we were very good against a Whitby team that want to win this league. We were the better side in the first half and then defended well in the second.

"We haven't been playing too badly in recent weeks and have been drawing a lot of games. We now need to take confidence from the Whitby win and start turning those draws into wins."

The Yeltz will go to Ashton this Saturday looking for more points to push them away from the Northern Premier League dropzone.
