TIVIDALE are facing a vital period in their quest to avoid the drop from the Midland Football League Premier Division.

They now have six home games in succession and manager Dave King wants his players to find the consistency needed to push away from the relegation places.

Second-from-bottom Tivi failed to back up a fine win at Walsall Wood when they lost 4-2 at Coleshill last Tuesday and 2-0 at Shawbury United on Saturday.

The Shawbury defeat was a big blow for Dale and King admits the poor performance came out of the blue.

"We did well at Coleshill even though we didn't win but then just didn't show up at Shawbury," said he boss.

"I didn't see that coming at all because we have been doing well and training hard. The performance was unbelievably poor.

"Our big problem has been our consistency and ability to put a run of games together.

"That is our challenge now, especially with six home games coming up. We are only focused on the next game but we know it is an important spell.

"I think a big problem has been that we haven't handled the pressure of playing the teams around us. When we play the top sides and have nothing to lose we seem to do well."

Tivi will take on Rocester at the Beeches this Saturday looking for a big three points (3pm kick-off).

King has issued a rallying cry for fans to turn out in force and support his side.

He added: "We really do need people to come to the games now and really get behind the team.

"It would be great to get a few bigger crowds because that could make a big difference for us."

Dale could be without Chris Hill this Saturday as he faces a race against time to recover from a knee injury.
