Stourbridge Lions claimed another win with a 26-0 thumping away victory at Stafford.

Their first try went to George Tildesley after a kick clear by the home defence and a Lions’ backs move left him to outpace the cover into the corner.

The second try came from a penalty try leaving a Sam Vaughan conversion for a lead of 12-0 after 25 minutes.

After a third try from Cass Brookes meant the game seemed to be over for Stafford at half time with the Lions up 19-0, Stafford also had a player red carded for dissent.

The second half gave Stafford the chance to redeem themselves and the 14 men went at the Lions with determination.

A series of penalties won down the left put the Lions under some significant pressure, the hosts almost scored on two occasions.

Two more Stafford players were sin binned and this told, a scrum five metres out from the Stafford line resulted in a touch down and another penalty try was awarded by the referee.

Trinham’s conversion was the effective end to the game, the Lions travel to Walsall on Saturday.
