DUDLEY Sports manager Tony Gore is targeting three more wins this season to ensure his side steer clear of relegation.

Sports fell to back-to-back losses with a 2-0 home defeat to Black Country Rangers last Saturday but the manager was encouraged by what he saw.

"I thought our performance was quite good," said Gore.

"The lads worked very hard but we just need to try and create a little bit more than we did.

"If we play like that and work that hard between now and the end of the season then we'll pick up the points we need.

"We are a young side but we can put pressure on those around us. I think we need two or three wins because seven to eight points will be enough to keep us out of the bottom two.

"We are one point away from the bottom two at the moment and still have to play Gornal, Dudley Town, Wellington Amateurs, so it's in our hands."

Gore highlighted the need for his players to battle their way to safety as the season enters its final months.

He said: "We haven't experienced it for a few years but it's tough being down at the bottom.

"There is no secret formula or magic solution, it's all about hard work and being able to roll the sleeves up and battle it out."

Sports will look to get back to winning ways when they host Cradley Town and Hillcrest Avenue this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Gore is targeting more goals after his side have managed to hit the back of the net just three times in the last five games.

He added: "We need to create more chances as a team. The forwards are working hard but we need to get them more service."

Mark Gore and Tom Watkins could both return this weekend following injury and absence.
