NEIL Shillingford says the frustration from his Dudley Kingswinford players despite an away win at Kenilworth is a measure of how far they have progressed.

DK beat the league’s bottom side 14-8 last Saturday to take their winning run to four games.

However, the director of rugby admits his players were unhappy with their performance even though they came out on top.

He said: “It was an ugly win but we’ll take it.

“Kenilworth are gone now but they were definitely looking to take something from the game.

“They try and disrupt and play a direct, tight game and that made life difficult for us.

“The players came off a little frustrated at their performance but I think that is a measure of how we have developed this season.

“It was an away win but we are still disappointed, which says a lot about the good progress we are on now.

“Before we’d have just been happy to get a win on the road but now we’re thinking above that.

“Overall we did well to adapt our game and get the win.

“We started really strong but left a few tries out there which is something we will look to improve on.”

DK will look to take their winning run to five when they host sixth-placed Moseley Oak at Heathbrook this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

“It is going to be a tough game,” added Shillingford.

“They have a big pack and play set-piece to set-piece, which can be a style we struggle with at times.

“We just need to be confident in our game plan and look to put on another good performance at home to keep our run going.”

DK will be without the absent James Fildes but have no injury concerns ahead of the clash.
