TIVIDALE boss Dave King has vowed to end the season in the right manner.

Dale are on the brink of relegation from the Midland Football League Premier Division and slipped to their 11th game without a win when losing 4-1 at home to Heanor Town last Saturday.

They failed to build on last Tuesday night's battling point against Highgate United.

However, with just five games left and the drop inevitable, King is still determined to keep fighting.

He said: "It's very important to me that we finish the season off in the right manner.

"Hopefully we'll see that in the last games. We don't want it just to peter out.

"We have worked hard all season and I don't want that to change now even though we're going down.

"We showed that fighting spirit against Highgate and I thought we took that into the first half against Heanor as well.

"In the end we didn't get a penalty when I thought we should and they have gone up the other end and scored. They then scored two other very good goals but we still showed that the spirit is still there.

"It is hard for the players after a tough season, especially when we go behind, but I can't praise them enough for the effort."

Tivi will be without key man Craig Stevens when they go to Sporting Khalsa this Saturday.
