WOLLASTON Lawn Tennis Club (WLTC) members embraced some April Fool’s Day fun with a fancy dress mixed doubles tournament last Saturday.
Eight pairs entered the mixed tournament, at the Prestwood Drive Club, which took the form of a round robin of seven matches of the best of eight games, with players changing partners each round after four games.
Adam James and Annabel Kuligowski took top spot with Dave Tranter and Heather Partridge in second place.
WLTC tournament officer Max Bywater said: “We are always looking for new ideas for tournaments at WLTC so with April 1 falling on a Saturday it seemed a good idea to add a fun element.
“It was great to see everyone enter into the spirit but still make it a very competitive afternoon of tennis.”
