THIS Saturday's Dudley derby will be about bragging rights only with both sides now safe from the West Midlands Premier League dropzone.

Town and rivals Dudley Sports will go head-to-head at the Dell Stadium (3pm kick-off).

Sports made sure they won’t finish in the bottom two this term thanks to last Saturday’s success over relegation rivals Wellington Amateurs.

Goals in each half from Rich Nicholson and Bradley Welding handed them a 2-0 win.

Manager Tony Gore was pleased with the victory, saying: “The 2-0 win didn’t really do us justice but it was enough.

“We’re not going to celebrate avoiding relegation but it was pleasing the way we have dug in and fought to get out of it.”

The Robins, meanwhile, lost 5-2 at home to Wolverhampton Casuals last weekend but are now also safe after Wellington Amateurs failed to beat Pegasus Juniors on Tuesday night.

It means both Dudley sides have survived and can look forward to this Saturday derby contest.

Town won the reverse fixture last month when Ethan Barnett and Alex Cameron helped them to a 2-1 success.
