CAPTAIN Tom Tonks says Stourbridge will come back "bigger and stronger" next season despite their play-off disappointment.

The Glassboys saw their promotion dreams dashed when losing 1-0 in the final to hosts Spennymoor Town.

Tonks said: "Credit to Spennymoor, they were probably the better side on the day.

"It's come down to a hand ball, the lad's put himself through and to be fair to him he's hit a great finish in the end but for a game that big to come down to a referring mistake is one of those things. It hasn't gone our way.

"I'm gutted but we have to go again. We have to get over it.

"It's going to hurt now but we'll come back stronger next year.

"We'll regroup and be back bigger and stronger.

The skipper also praised the fans that made the trip north to support them once again, adding: "It's not just been today it's been the whole season, to Blyth and down to Whitehawk in the FA cup, they have been phenomenal.

"All I can say is thank you very much and we'll be here next season.
