OLD Hill are still battling to find the consistency needed to be a force this season, says captain Jonathan Wright.

The Haden Hill outfit suffered their third defeat of the campaign when leaders Oswestry bagged a 10-wicket win last Saturday.

Wright's men were bowled out for 171 with Ravi Nagra (42) and Nigel Davenport (44) offering the main resistance.

Oswestry openers Warrick Fynn (79) and Joe Carrasco (73) knocked off the runs without trouble.

Wright admits that his side still need to gel to be able to put in consistent showings, starting this Saturday when they travel to face local rivals Halesowen (noon start).

He said: "It was a poor performance against Oswestry and again we are talking about consistency.

"This season we have played six serious games, four in the league and two in the National Knock-out. We have won three and lost three and that sums up where we are at the moment.

"We are still finding our way as a team and the batting order isn't completely settled just yet.

"We are a completely fresh side with a lot of new players and our performances aren't quite representing the talent we have. The spirit and the feeling in the squad is right but we need to click as a team.

"We were disappointed on Saturday but by no means disheartened. We are looking forward to playing Halesowen this Saturday. It's a big rivalry so hopefully we can get the win and put in a strong performance."

Sunday will then see Old Hill take on Wolverhampton away in the regional semi-finals of the National Knock-out Cup.
