HALESOWEN Triathlon Club’s season is officially underway with members continuing to participate in a host of events up and down the country.

Last weekend saw Adam Jones, 27, storm through the National Championship Sprint Triathlon at Thorpe Park.

Even with a 7am start, temperatures were already high with the 750m open water swim taking place in a 21degree lake, followed by a fast and flat 21km on the bike before finishing up with a 5km run taking Jones and fellow competitors around the theme park.

He completed the course in an impressive one hour and 11 minutes, taking 15th place in his age category.

Meanwhile, two of HTC Juniors, brother and sister duo, Millie Elias, nine, and Zach Elias, seven, showed what they’re made of as they completed the Henley on Thames Junior Triathlon.

As part of the UK Triathlon series, the Henley on Thames event saw Millie take a 50m swim, 2km cycle and 1km run, completed in 24 minutes and 11 seconds whilst Zach completed a 25m swim, 1km cycle and 500m run in 13 minutes and 27 seconds.
