HALESOWEN College footballers are celebrating after a superb 6–0 victory against Leicester City FC International Academy.

A strong Halesowen side came out on top in a well fought contest with two goals from Salomon Baransananiye, as well as a goal apiece from Nehemia Zazi, Isaac Culver, Nathaniel Khan and Brandon Homer.

All of the players are part of the college’s new football development programme and both staff and students were given the unique opportunity to travel to a premier league training ground to play at the home of last season’s champions.

Jamie Rogers, from at Halesowen College, said: “Our students played very well against a very impressive LCFC side.

“The score line may have flattered us slightly, but the victory was thoroughly deserved.

“They applied themselves superbly and went into the game full of confidence after a great first season.”

The team have performed well in their first season having won one league, finished second in another and got to the last eight of the country-wide National Cup.
