TIVIDALE boss Dave King is on the hunt for a new goalkeeper after Luke Kriskinans left the club.

The stopper was a key man despite Dale's relegation last season but has chosen to move on.

It means the Packwood Road outfit have been relying on 16-year-old prospect Lewis Handley during their pre-season preparations.

King has been pleased with Handley's impact but is still keen to add more experience between the sticks.

He said: "Lewis is a great prospect for us and has done really well. He's definitely our future.

"I just think it's important we get a bit more experience in that position as well and we're looking for that now."

Tividale's pre-season preparations continued with a 3-1 home defeat against Lye Town last Saturday.

Despite the loss, King was happy with the workout for his team and thinks his squad is almost ready for the start of the new West Midlands Premier League campaign.

"It was a good workout for the team and in fairness I think it was a very even game," added the manager. "They only scored late on to make it 3-1.

"The game gave us a chance to look at a few trialists as well. I think everything is coming together now.

"Once we get a new goalkeeper in I think we'd only need one more signing and then we'll be ready."
