LEE Mills made just one change to the side that beat Kington a week ago with Josh Rogers donning the gloves in goal for Team Dudley.

The game started with Wem trying to pressure Dudley high, but the Black Country side defended well and took the lead on 11 minutes as Craig Edwards got his fifth in three games.

Edward's goal came handed on a plate as Marc Lawrence lofted the ball over the back line, Edwards ran onto it rounded the 'keeper and finished with ease.

Alex Pinches then had a shot from range that went just wide of the post, that was the sighter though as he made it 2-0 with 37 minutes gone.

Preston Green played him in and he unleashed a left footed drive from the edge of the area past the 'keeper's despairing dive.

Chris Knight was then next to try his luck, after beating two his shot at the near post was enough to force a save from Wem's stopper.

Right on half time it was nearly three when a Craig Edwards free kick hit both post and the rebound nearly fell to Alex Pinches but a defender got there just before him to touch it over the bar.

Wem Town started the second half with a strike that went wide of the post - Chris Knight followed that with a lob that went over the crossbar.

Craig Edwards got his second just before the hour mark, a quick Alex Pinches free kick was played over Wem onto Edwards who then lobbed the 'keeper.

Josh Rogers was then called into action when Dudley lost the ball in the midfield - Hawthorne and Bird delayed the shot and when it came Rogers parried the effort wide of the danger area well.

Bradley Cox came into the game and got back amongst the goals as Mitch Blackham played a ball across the box for Cox to finish on the turn.

Blackham also had a goal of the season attempt go agonisingly over the bar as Cox nearly returned the favour with a cross for him.

Blackham went for a spectacular overhead kick that dipped just over the bar.

The duo were at it again not long after and they got Vlad Lungu in on the act as quick play saw a shot across the Wem 'keeper from Vlad denied.

Wem then got a goal with six minutes to go, a penalty conceded by skipper James Hawthorne was fired hard and low past Rogers.

Vlad Lungu then ran through one-on-one but saw his shot saved by the Wem 'keeper before Brad Cox made it 5-1 with a beautiful finish from distance, lobbing the 'keeper to send Team Dudley top of division one on virtue of goal difference.

Team Dudley's next fixture is Old Wulfrunians away.
