A PAIR of talented kickboxers from a Rowley Regis club will represent England at home and abroad next month.

Harvey Adlam, aged 10, and 24-year-old Arron Walker of React Martial Arts will represent their country in two international combat competitions.

During October the duo will compete in the International Combat Organisation (ICO) World Cup in Birmingham and then four days later the pair will travel to Italy for the Unified World Championships.

Harvey, who lives in Cradley Heath, has been training since he was six and last year he picked up two silver and a bronze medal at the Unified World Championships.

He also achieved a bronze medal at the International Combat Organisation (ICO) British championships earlier this year.

Arron, who is also Harvey’s coach, has been training since the age of eight and moved into coaching when he was 16, setting up React Martial Arts where he runs weekly sessions for all abilities.

React Martial Arts is part of the Rowley Community Activity Network which works to bring together all organisations across the area to provide everyone with the opportunity to get active and healthy through sport and physical activity.

Councillor Elaine Costigan, Sandwell Council's cabinet member public health and protection, said: “It's great to see homegrown talent competing at such a high level and we wish Arron and Harvey the best in their events next month.”
