DAVE King is preparing his Tividale troops for a big month as they look to continue their promotion push.

Third-placed Dale face crucial home games at the end of February against leaders Malvern Town and title favourites Wolverhampton Sporting. The month will also include tricky away games at Ellesmere, Wellington and Wednesfield.

The boss said: "We'll know a lot more about who will be in with a chance of the title at the end of February.

"It's a big month when we'll have to play Malvern and Wolves Sporting, Wellington have a good home record as well.

"The players are desperate to play again now so hopefully we can get back up and running this week."

Tivi's game at Wolverhampton Casuals was again called off due to a waterlogged pitch last Saturday but King instead arranged a friendly clash with Wrens Nest.

They are due to take on Pelsall Villa away in the Walsall Senior Cup on Tuesday night before welcoming Stone Old Alleynians this Saturday (3pm kick-off).

Meanwhile, the boss at the Beeches was delighted that Joe Lawley turned down an approach from Midland Football League Premier outfit Stourport Swifts last week.

He said: "He wants to stay and be part of the group, which is great to see.

"You don't get too many chances during your career to win leagues but he has that with us this season. That is what's driving everyone on."

King says he will play a waiting game before looking to add to his squad.

"I'm going to see how our injuries clear up before making a decision about bringing anyone in," said the manager.

"I'm mindful of the fact that we do have a lot of fixtures still to play and we may have some unavailability as well, so we'll keep on eye on it."
