TIVIDALE maintained their promotion push by putting six past struggling Dudley Sports last Saturday.

Darragh Bustin and Dan Smith both hit doubles and Demetri Brown and Elliott Harvey also got on the scoresheet for the 6-2 success.

The win leaves Dale in fourth and seven points away from leaders Wolverhampton Sporting Community approaching the hectic run-in.

Boss Dave King said: "We played very well and looked really sharp.

"We looked sharp all over the pitch and made sure we took our chances.

"We want to try and enjoy the end of the season and see how high we can finish."

Tivi now have to fit in 12 league games between now and the start of May and King feels the gruelling schedule will hit his side more than most.

He added: "We are operating with one of the smallest squads in the league so all the games we have will have more of an impact on us than some of the other sides.

"We have to remember that and also remember how far we have come.

"The players were annoyed when they conceded on Saturday but would have just been happy to score one goal themselves 12 months ago.

"We'll just keep going and pick up as many points as we can."

Dale were due to take on Wolverhampton Casuals away on Tuesday night before going to Shifnal Town this Saturday.

Liam Smith picked up a knock against Dudley and will miss the Casuals clash. He could return in time for Saturday.
