STOURBRIDGE FC have been handed an opening-day trip to Barwell in the new Southern League Premier Division Central.

Gary Hackett's side will visit the Leicestershire side in the curtain-raiser on Saturday, August 11.

The Glassboys' first home game will be two nights later as they host Stratford Town on Monday, August 13.

Stourbridge then host AFC Rushden and Diamonds on Saturday, August 18.

The first month of the season is rounded off by two big Bank Holiday weekend derbies.

Stourbridge visit Alvechurch on Saturday, August 25, before hosting Halesowen Town in 2018-19's first instalment of the 'Number 9' derby on Bank Holiday Monday, August 27.

The Glassboys will face a Christmas period away from home - the return game at Halesowen is on Boxing Day (Wednesday, December 26) before a visit to Stratford on Saturday, December 29.

But they will be back at the War Memorial Ground on New Year's Day (Tuesday, January 1) for another derby, at home to Rushall Olympic.

And Stourbridge will finish the campaign at home to Kings Lynn Town on Saturday, April 27, 2019.

This season will be Stourbridge's first back in the Southern League for four years after they were moved back across from the Northern League due to an FA restructure of the non-league pyramid.

They will be hoping to improve on their 11th place finish in the Northern Premier last season.
