CAMERON Biddle continued his fine run of form for Halesowen Cycling Club Academy with fourth place in one of the toughest races in the country.

At the hilly Bole Hill road race in Derbyshire for Elite first and second category riders, Biddle showed his climbing skills to best advantage, bridging to an early split in the field on the second lap. As that group was reduced by the hills and the heat, Great Britain youth rider Adam Hartley escaped late in the 80-mile race to eventually take the win.

Biddle eventually placed fourth, winning the sprint from the remains of the break behind two riders from UCI-registered teams, Adam Kenway and Michael Cuming who escaped in pursuit of Hartley in the final lap, with former Halesowen rider Jack Stanton-Warren in fifth.

"I thought about going with them but I didn't want to blow up," said Biddle. "It was up and down all day, with two 10 per cent hills each lap, and the rest on rolling roads."

His team mate Matt Clarke missed the break but finished a solid 16th.

The junior riders continued to flourish, with Daniel Morris once again victorious. Earlier in the week, first year junior Daniel Morris landed his third win of the season at the Stourport circuit, winning the Tuesday night third and fourth category event in a 10-rider sprint with his team mate Henry Lloyd-Langston not far behind.

Elsewhere, former Halesowen Academy rider Charles Walker also took a fine win at Darley Moor in an elite category race.

This weekend Biddle continues his campaign on northern roads with an event at Holmfirth, while Lloyd-Langston maintains his comeback from a broken collarbone at the Alan Goddard memorial race in Shropshire, the latest round of the West Midlands road race league.
