BLACK Country Rangers will be based at Gornal Athletic for the coming season having previously groundshared with Halesowen Town.

Rangers spokesman Andy Harris confirmed: "I understand that Halesowen want to run an Under-21 side this season. As a result, it left us looking for a new ground at short notice".

Following their fourth placed finish last season, Rangers will likely be one of the favourites to lift this season's West Midlands League title and manager Wayne Spicer has been busy as a result by boosting his midfield.

He has brought in much travelled Matt Martin from Sporting Khalsa, Shaun Smith, who spent last season at Malvern Town together with AFC Wulfrunians player Brodie Williams.

Following a 3-1 pre season defeat to Racing Club Warwick, Rangers picked up a 4-4 draw with Lichfield City and a 3-1 success over Stafford Town, together with a convincing win over landlords Gornal Athletic.

Rangers open their West Midlands League campaign this Saturday with a trip to Bilston Town.
