TWO triathletes from Stourbridge have qualified to represent Great Britain.

Kate Miller and Anthony Walters, who train at the Crystal Leisure Centre and swim regularly together at open water venues in Netherton and Worcester, have been competing at both sprint and Olympic distance triathlon for the last five years.

However, they made the decision to try and make GB qualification in their age group last autumn and will now go to the European Championships in Glasgow after achieving their aim.

Miller, 38, a teacher at King Edwards VI College in Stourbridge, finished high enough up the rankings in her age group after an event in Nottingham.

She will now be joined by Walters, 55, after he reached his goal at a qualifying event at Thorpe Park.

Miller has since qualified to represent GB in Russia next year and will also travel to Ibiza later this year to compete in the aquathlon event.
