CRADLEY Town made it a winning start to the new season with victory against AFC Bridgnorth.

A brace from Ryan Piggott, a strike from Aaron Hickman and an own goal helped them to a 4-1 success last Saturday.

The new-look Hammers featured only Alex Harvey-Beach from last season as boss Ash Causer began his time in charge at the Beeches.

It took Town just five minutes to race two goals ahead. Ryan Guryn's own goal came after two minutes before Piggott doubled his side's advantage three minutes later.

Karl Griffiths did pull one back for Bridgnorth on 23 minutes but Piggott's second ensured they took in a two-goal advantage at the break.

Hickman's second half strike wrapped up Cradley's first three points of the new West Midlands Premier League campaign.

They will now look to build on the win when they go to Garden Walk to face Black Country Rangers this Saturday (3pm kick-off).
