THERE was disappointment for Stourbridge welterweight Kevin McCauley who suffered a narrow points defeat to Wayne Alwan-Arab at London’s Millenium Hotel last Thursday.
The 30-year-old fought well against the unbeaten Zimbabwean but referee Bob Williams scored the fight 38-39 against the Stour man.
McCauley was the more aggressive throughout, taking the fight to Alwan from the first bell.
He appeared to surprise his younger opponent and landed some good shots throughout the four round contest.
The defeat was the 13th of McCauley’s professional career. He has four wins and two draws.
Elsewhere, there was better news for Stour’s Sam Horton and Chris Male, who both won their bouts at Birmingham’s Holiday Inn.
