NEIL Mitchell will be hoping his Stourbridge sidecanfinishtheseason on a highwhen they take on Tynedale at Stourton Park on Saturday.

The director of rugby wants Saxons to finish top of the relegation pile and they go into their final fixture just one point adrift of Midlands neighbours Birmingham and Solihull.

The Bees face a tricky trip to highflying Ealing Trailfinders, but Mitchell is taking nothing for granted.

“All we can do is concentrate on our own game with Tynedale,” he explained. “If wecan produce the sort of rugby that we showed in patches at Cambridge last weekend and in our home games with Barking and Sedgley Park then I’m confident that we can finish our campaign with a win.

“Whether that means we climb above Bees is something we will have to wait and see — but it won’t be for the lack of trying.”

The Saxons lost 40-26 at Cambridge lastweekend but dominated the opening period to open up a 19-12 lead.

Hooker Liam Wordley bagged a brace of tries when Stourbridge lost 39-24 at Tynedale in the opening match of the season, James Sutton and Nathan Bressington also going over.

“This is our final gameof the season so it would be good to see as many Stourbridge supporters as possible down at Stourton,” Mitchell added.
