Chess men beat rivals

STOURBRIDGE Chess Club took the spoils in their annual post-season friendly with Halesowen.

Held over 11 boards, Stour ran out 7½-3½ winners at the Institute.

Stewart Fishburne and Paul Evans were the only players to claim outright wins for the visitors, while Stour’s players claimed six of the games.

Stourbridge were set to host the latest round of their summer tournament last night.
