Pearson hails fans and riders after Mildenhall win

NIGEL Pearson has sung the praises of both sets of fans and riders after Tuesday’s National League showdown between Dudley Heathens and Mildenhall.

The Heathens Chairman, who was facing up to Sky Sports TV colleague Chris Louis in the Mildenhall camp, says both clubs are in for a thrilling end to the season.

He said: “Much has been said and written about events surrounding our trip to Mildenhall on Sunday but it’s now time to look ahead.

“The Mildenhall fans who made the trip to Monmore made plenty of noise for their riders and well done to them, we hope to welcome them back either in the KOC Final or Play-offs – perhaps both!

“But our fans continue to amaze the Heathens management team. They were awesome tonight and despite our depleted team they still travelled in massive numbers to Mildenhall on Sunday.

“I would like to thank the Mildenhall riders and management for their co-operation in difficult conditions and I feel sure there are some tremendous meetings ahead for both clubs between now and the end of the season.

“Speedway is a fantastic family sport and both clubs aim to keep it that way.”
