Brilliant Hughes sees Pensnett past Spills

LIAM Hughes hit a double hat-trick as Pensnett United hammered Spills Meadow 7-2 in the Hospital Cup.

Tenth Lock gave FC Baggeridge a huge scare before eventually being edged out 3-2.

Goals from Matt Morton and Sean Grey were not enough for the Division One side as strikes from Ian Davies, Stuart Mills and Scott Brown saw the Premier Division outfit squeeze through.

Braces from Brian Jones and Lee Bevin saw Glasscutters and Hadcroft Rovers locked at 2-2 before a Dean Evans penalty sealed the tie in the former’s favour.

Anton Kent’s hat-trick, coupled with doubles from Aiden Watkins and Craig Stevens, saw Team Netherton record an 11-1 victory over Dudley Olympic.

Lee Male, Neil Corbett, Joe Lawley and Ryan Moore were also on target, while Luke Jenkinson got Dudley's consolation goal.

Bush Athletic and Britannia are also through to round three after victory's over King William and Dudley United respectively.

The only Premier Division game saw Three Crowns move up to second with a 4-1 victory over Lloyds.

In Division One, Lewis Jones hit the net four times for Halesowen Members as they dismantled Forest Falcons 6-1, Curtis Pritchard and Kurt Wright also scored.

Malt Shovel Athletic moved back to the top of the division after a 5-3 victory over Sedgley White Lion but are being closely chased by Village Dudley, who narrowly saw off Ruiton Harriers by the odd goal in five.
