CAUSEWAY United crashed out of the FA Cup last night following a crushing 4-0 home defeat to early season Midland Combination pacesetters Bolehall Swifts.
Causeway’s prospects were dealt an early blow when they had striker Aaron Lloyd sent off in the first half when the game was goalless.
Matters only worsened for Causeway as Bolehall built a 2-0 lead by half time.
Then Causeway lost impressive Liam Edwards at half time with a hamstring problem.
Causeway manager Andy Mole admitted: “Bolehall were very good at keeping possession and that left us chasing the game. We gifted them their first two goals and then miss ed a couple of good chances ourselves just before half time which would have got us back into the game. It was a bad day all round”.
Cradley Town clinched a 5-3 win over a Bartley Green side currently propping up the West Midlands League.
Jimmy Welnitschuk put Cradley in front after just 53 seconds.
Welnitschuk went onto net twice, as did Chris Bladen with Scott Devlin netting another.
