Swifts crumble under Tividale onslaught
9:15am Tuesday 27th August 2013 in Football
Tividale 5, Stourport Swifts 0
Stourport were swept aside by league leaders Tividale who made it six straight wins as they opened up a three-point lead at the top.
The Black Country side took just two minutes to open their tally, Stuart How finding the net with a diving header.
How was on target again on 15 minutes, this time with a shot from the left which was deflected past Haydn Whitcombe in the Stourport goal.
The visitors had chances to claw their way back into the game, with John Griffin latching on to a Kyonn Evans pass only to be denied by the keeper.
On the stroke of half-time, Tim Jackson sent a cross into the Tividale box but Chris Morrison put his header wide.
The second half saw the home side take control, Sam Williams giving them a three-goal lead on 50 minutes before How completed his hat-trick on the hour with a well-struck free-kick.
Substitute Calvin Dinsley looked lively for Swifts when he came on 15 minutes from the end and went close with a set-piece.
But it was Tividale who had the final say, Ryan Winwood scoring the goal of the game with a fine finish from a tight angle five minutes from time.
