Robins reach double figures against hapless Bartley Green

DUDLEY Town hit double figures this week after putting Bartley Green to the sword 10-0 on Tuesday night.
It followed their 6-2 success over Smethwick Rangers — a result which surprisingly left Robins manager Andy Wyton unimpressed.
Dudley Town had already raced into a 2-0 lead against Smethwick thanks to goals from Ashley Greenaway and Steve Jones, before Smethwick had goalkeeper Gurtej Bhullar sent off.
To compound matters, Grant Joshua converted the following penalty before Dominic Watson struck two more goals, putting Dudley 5-1 up at half time.
Wyton said after the Semthwick win: “I told the players at half-time, these are the type of games which teams like Lye Town go onto win by double figures and I wanted that from them.”
However, Dudley could only add one more goal to their tally through substitute Dreniz Bala.
It might have been a case of delayed reaction, but Dudley did manage a double figure score against Bartley Green.
Back in favour Dreniz Bala led the spree with a hat-trick while Steve Jones and full back Adam Cross converted two each.
Further goals from Dominic Watson, Alex Perry and Riob Whiteley only added to Bartley Green’s misery.
Wyton added: “Everything we hit went in against Bartley Green. “I told the players just to do the basics right — and they did.”
“Bartley Green hit the post in the opening minute — if they’d scored, it could have been quite different”.
Wyton is hoping to sign ex-Stafford striker Sam Agar in time for Saturday’s trip to Bewdley Town.
