DUDLEY Sports bowed out of the FA Vase after a 3-1 home defeat to Midland Combination side Atherstone.
Sports joint-boss Tony Gore had no complaints about the outcome.
He said: “It’s our own fault we went out. “We had four or five really good chances to score in the first half and didn’t make them count.
“It was a good performance with no end product.
“Atherstone scored right on the stroke of half-time and I think that knocked us back quite a bit.”
Dan Creaney fired teh Adders in front and went onto score a second with Andy Culver providing a third before Liam Morris struck a late consolation goal for Sports.
Gore was unable to use impressive loan striker Dan Evans because parent club Tividale didn’t want him cup-tied.
The hitman should be back for Sports this Saturday when they make the short journey to Cradley Town.
