CRADLEY Town completed a dreadful week after being booted out of two cup competitions.

On Saturday, they crashed out of the FA Vase after suffering a humbling 7-0 defeat at local West Midlands League rivals Dudley Town.

Cradley then followed up by losing interest in the Birmingham Midweek Floodlit Cup after suffering a 5-3 reverse at Midland Combination side Studley.

Luckless Cradley found themselves trailing to Dudley from the word go when Rion Francis-Mills netted a rapid opener.

But the real turning point arrived after 17 minutes when Cradley goalkeeper Matt Jones was judged to have brought down Dudley’s Croatian striker Dreniz Bala, with the referee awarding a penalty.

Cradley’s Spencer Blackham contested the decision and was sent off.

Bala duly bagged the resulting penalty and it was all downhill for Cradley from that point. The setback at Studley was equally disappointing as Cradley twice led.

Chris Bladen put Cradley into an early advantage before Studley hit back to lead 2-1.

James Welnitchuk levelled matters and Alex Mallon put them ahead at 3-2 - but from that point, Cradley fell apart.

Cradley travel to Bewdley Town this Saturday, weather permitting and then visit Wolves Casuals on Tuesday.
