CAUSEWAY United left it late before pulling off a prized 2-0 win at Old Wulfrunians to remain on the heels of Midland Alliance leaders Tividale.
Stoppage time goals from teenager Jack Pearlman and Matt Weyman sealed the points for Causeway.
Manager Andy Mole said: “It’s a bit of cliche, but it was a tale of two halves. There was a wind blowing down the pitch which Wulfs had use of in the first half.
“We had the better of it after half time. As the second period progressed, i would have taken a 0-0 score, even though it would have been the first time this season we hadn’t scored.
“Then Jack scored this wonderful goal, taking the ball on his chest before producing an overhead kick which sailed into the roof of the net.
“The second goal was good as well. We broke from a Wulfs corner and Wisdom Machangani must have run 60 yards, drawing their defence before slipping the ball to Matt Weyman who scored from what must have been only his second or third touch of the ball.
“The referee blew his whistle immediately afterwards. In fact they timed the goal at 97 minutes.
Causeway attempt to become the first club to wreck Tividale’s 100 per cent start to the Midland Alliance season this Saturday when they make the short trip to Packwood Road.
Mole has injury doubts over central defender Danny Scarr and Chris Charles.
