CRADLEY Town clinched a cracking 4-2 victory at Wolves Casuals this week after coming from 2-0 down at half-time.
Jimmy Welnitchuk stole the show by scoring a second half hat-trick, after Scott Devlin had got the ball rolling from the penalty spot when Matt Vaughan was brought down.
First team coach Ian Broad took charge in the absence of joint managers Nigel Birch and Marcus McDonald and claimed: “I was so pleased for the lads. We were looking for a reaction after the dreadful 7-0 defeat to Dudley Town in the FA Vase.
“Once the penalty went in, you could see the players growing in confidence, which was great to see”.
Cradley have recruited former Cheltenham Town and Hereford United central defender Mike Townsend.
Broad said: “Mike had to stop playing full time football because of injury. However, that injury has settled down now and he wants to resume playing. He’s already looking a class-act”.
Cradley host high flying Black Country Rangers this Saturday in a West Midlands League fixture at Beeches View Avenue.
