Mole aiming to better last season's finish

CAUSEWAY United manager Andy Mole has his sights firmly set on beating last season's sixth place finish in the Midland Football Alliance.

Despite that ambition hitting a set back when his team lost 3-1 away on Tuesday night to Walsall Wood, Mole believes his side can continue to progress during the run-in.

"We want to finish better than we did last season to show we are progressing as planned. I think we are more than capable of doing just that," he said.

His side lost on Tuesday despite taking the lead from a Ryan Francis Mill effort. Two errors from Causeway keeper Tom Turner let Walsall back into the game before the home side then made it 3-1 from the penalty spot as United pushed for an equaliser.

"I thought we dominated the game at times on Tuesday night and were unlucky not to get something from the game," added Mole. "It came down to individual errors that ended up costing us.

"But, the last time we lost, we bounced back with a win. We need to do that again this weekend."

Fifth placed Causeway will travel to sixth placed Coleshill Town this Saturday as they look to get back to winning ways.

Mole added: "The main thing for us is to keep improving. We are still undergoing a building process but are probably ahead of schedule. We want to bounce back against Coleshill and then push on to better last season's finish."
