Manager full of praise for table-toppers Tivi

TIVIDALE manager Stuart Scriven has praised the determination of his table-toppers.
Tivi went top of the Midland Football Alliance when they beat and leapfrogged previous leaders Quorn thanks to a 1-0 win at The Beeches last Saturday.
After a cagey first half, it was Tiviadle who struck first just two minutes into the second period.
Nathan Waite retrieved the ball at the edge of the opposition box, skipped past his marker and fired in a shot that Quorn keeper Pearson could only parry straight into the path of Michael Wardle, whose first time shot found the back of the net via the underside of the cross bar.
The victory was all the more sweeter to Scriven because it was his side's fourth game in only eight days.
"It was a massive win for us," he said. "We have had a busy week and the players have showed great determination and fitness. We had to battle very hard on Saturday, but we got the result that took us top.
"We now need to keep the same mentality. It is a big step for us but we haven't won anything yet."
Scriven was also full of praise for squad players that have come into the side during a busy period.
He said: "Everyone who has been involved has come in and played an important part and offered us something. We believe in everyone at the club and will look to use our squad in the coming weeks as well."
Tividale now face three away games in quick succession. They were due to play Shepshed Dynamo last night, Wolverhampton Casuals in the cup on Thursday and Causeway United this Saturday.
