CAUSEWAY United boss Andy Mole is looking forward to building on this season's foundations.

His team currently sits in eighth position in the Midland Alliance and picked up another good win last Saturday when beating fourth-placed Highgate United 1-0 at The Grove.

The game had been a tale of two goalkeepers until midfielder Joe Lawley chested the ball down on the edge of the box and rifled it home with just second remaining.

A 4-1 away defeat against second-placed Boldmere St Michael's on Monday couldn't damped Mole's spirits as he looked back on the season ahead of their final fixture at home to Quorn this Saturday.

"It has been a really good season. If you'd have offered the club a chance of finishing seventh or eighth they would definitely have taken it," he said.

"I can only congratulate the players that have been brought in. We have rebuilt the team slightly this season and it has gone really well.

"We are hopeful that we won't lose many of the players and will still have them on board for next season. We have put a base in place and will now look to build from here."
