LYE Town are now back in the driving seat as they look to be crowned West Midlands Premier champions.

They are back on top of the table with just two games left to play after bagging back-to-back league wins this week.

They have showed their character by bouncing back from last week's 3-2 away defeat to mid-table side Bewdley Town.

Town responded with a vengeance by brushing aside Wellington 6-0 last Saturday. A brace from Ricky Anslow and other goals from Ben Jevons and James Spray and substitutes Shane Grainger and Kevin Nickle gave them a comfortable away win.

They then earned a crucial 2-1 victory over fifth-placed Sport Khalsa on Tuesday night to ensure themselves a slender one point lead at the top as the season comes to the boil.

Lye will have two home fixtures as they look to secure title glory. The will take on Willenhall Amateurs this Saturday before playing Dudley Town at the Sports Ground on May 1.
