Tivi chase more silverware
10:50am Wednesday 7th May 2014 in Football
TIVIDALE go in search of more silverware tonight when they take on Black Country Rangers in the semi-final of the JW Hunt Cup.
The newly-crowned Midland Alliance champions will look to bag themselves a final place when they play their former tenants at Wolverhampton's Castlecroft Stadium at 7.30pm.
Manager Stuart Scriven is backing his side to continue their fine form as they look to make it a league and cup double for the 2013/14 season.
He said: "Our objective was always to win the league. Now that we have achieved our main goal we can now focus on the cup.
"It would be fantastic if we could add more silverware to the league title. I'm confident that the players have what it takes to secure a final place.
"The only issue is that it has been more than a week since we have played. However, the players still went out and got wins in our final league games even though we had already won it, so they have the right attitude to go out there and win. Hopefully they can enjoy the competition now that the shackles are off a little.
"We have a lot of respect for a strong Black Country Rangers side and know it won't be an easy task to beat them. Anything can happen in a cup tie and we won't get a second chance. It will be important that we are on our game but I'm confident in our ability."
The other semi-final of the JW Hunt Cup, a charity competition that donates money to the Beacon Centre For The Blind, saw Pelsall Villa take on Sporting Khalsa at Castlecroft Stadium last night.
