Hammers gunning for Gornal

CRADLEY Town boss Adrian Mander is confident of halting Gornal Athletic’s title charge on Saturday.

The Hammers head to the Garden Walk Stadium aiming to extend a three-game winning streak.

With some tough fixtures coming up against three of the West Midlands League Premier Division top-four, Mander is hopeful of putting down a marker and finishing as high as possible.

He said: “I am looking forward to this weekend and to see how we fare against a top side.

“Ian Rowe has gone in there and done a really good job, they are the best footballing side we have faced this season.

“But we have a capable side going there this week and we will be looking for three points.”

Mander has made big changes since arriving at Cradley in August and is hopeful of a strong finish to the campaign.

He added: “There has been a massive change since I came in, the team were second-from-bottom and now we are in the top half.

“We come up against some top sides in the coming weeks and we want to earn some respect by getting some points against the top sides.

“I am looking at top six and to finish on a high.”
