Robinson remains on the radar

HALESOWEN Town manager Morell Maison has set his sights on adding much-travelled striker Anthony Robinson to the ranks.

The Yeltz boss admitted he's hoping to strengthen his striking options and that the former Kettering fowrward is the number one target.

Maison has been a long time admirer of the powerful front man who is already registered as a Halesowen Town player.

However, the manager is finding it difficult to tie down the 28-year-old, who has already played for Mansfield Town, Worcester City, Studley, Redditch United and Stratford Town this season, to a deal.

A determined Maison said: “The one person I am still looking for is that lion up front to just give us that extra bit of presence and quality.

“Anthony would be ideal and I believe if I can get him to commit to us he will be sensational.

“He’s already registered for us but before we can get anything sorted we need to sort a few things out.

“He’ s had a bit of a nomadic existance of late but there is no doubting the boy’s quality.

“He’s tenacious, quick, aggressive and most importantly he can score goals.

“I just have that feeling he could be that missing piece of the jigsaw.

“We’ve talked to him on a few occasions but we have been unable to reach an agreement but he’s certainly a player I haven’t given up on as of yet and I’m still confident he will eventually be a Halesowen Town player.

“He really would be the icing on the cake.”

This Saturday, Halesowen Town will welcome Yate Town to The Grove (3pm kick-off) in BGB Premier Division action before travelling to Bedworth United on Tuesday in the second round of the GX Cup (7.45pm kick-off).
