Coaches to cover for Maison during FA ban

HALESOWEN Town are set to appoint three senior coaches to run the club’s pre-season while boss Morell Maison serves the rest of his FA ban.

The manager’s suspension from football runs until August 11 and chief executive Guy Simpson revealed three coaching appointments are set to be finalised within the next seven to 10 days.

He said the coaches would be tasked with organising the Yeltz’s squad in preparation for the new BGB Premier campaign, which begins on August 15.

Simpson said: “We are going to invite all of the squad that finished last season to come back for pre-season.

“Whether they come or not is up to them, it depends on whether they have found somewhere else or if they enjoyed their time here last season.”

Mr Simpson said there are also plans to bring in a number of new faces at the Grove.

He added: “There is a list of targeted players that has been identified.

“The emphasis will be on local lads, I think in the past we have had too many players from outside the area, we are keen to rectify that.”

The club has also announced a number of pre-season matches. Yeltz first take on Bromsgrove Rovers away on Saturday July 18 (3pm kick-off) before trips to Blackheath Town on Thursday July 23 and Cradley Town on Tuesday July 28 (both 7.45pm).

King’s Lynn visit the Grove on Saturday August 8 (3pm) while the game at Hucknall Town originally scheduled for Friday July 17 will be rearranged. Further fixtures are expected to be announced shortly.

Meanwhile the long-awaited Halesowen Town shareholders AGM has been scheduled for Tuesday June 23 at 10.30am. The location of the meeting is still to be confirmed.
