Yeltz bring back Lycett to boost defence
1:00pm Thursday 9th August 2012 in Sport
Halesowen Town have bolstered their defensive options with the signings of Scott Lycett and Sam Brooks.
Experienced Lycett first played for the Yeltz in 2007 and returns to the Grove after finishing last season at Kidsgrove Athletic.
He previously played under manager Shaun Cunnington at Willenhall Town and has also enjoyed spells at Colwyn Bay, Hednesford Town and Chasetown among others.
Brooks has spent the past four years playing in the United States for the University of Kentucky.
Yeltz chairman Colin Brookes said: “Scott proved very popular during his first spell with us and did very well.
“Sam has also impressed since he arrived in the club and both should be on show in our home game with Stourbridge this Saturday.”
Meanwhile, the Yeltz are still in the dark over the future of forward Nathan Jones.
The hitman has signed forms with at both the Grove and West Midlands Premier outfit Cradley Town, while he has also turned out for Tipton Town during pre-season.
Halesowen host their fans forum this Monday in the Yeltz Bar, starting at 7.30pm.
The club have also announced the formation of a ladies team, which will play in the Central Warwickshire League.
They will play home games on Sunday afternoons at the Grove and will wear the same kit as the first team.
Committee member Sarah Titmus said: “We have a great bunch of players and are looking to gain promotion this year.
“By having a ladies team, it means we can now apply for FA Charter Standard Community Club, the highest level offered by the FA.”
