CRADLEY Town have already taken the precaution of calling off their West Midlands Premier Division game against Shawbury United this Saturday as the wet weather continues to wreak havoc.

The weather also put paid to their midweek game with Smethwick Rangers and Cradley boss Nigel Birch confirmed: “The pitch will need two days of dry weather before we can even start working on it.”

Birch took his squad for a two-and-a-half hour training session at Wolverhampton University’s Walsall campus this week and claimed: “That’s all you can do with them at the moment.”

However, Birch continues to build his squad bringing in Walsall Wood midfield player Danny Forest, following the recent captures of former Hednesford striker Luke Farmer and full-back Matt Dudley.

It means there are now five new faces at Cradley who have yet to feature.

Another recent capture,Corey Pearce, has quit Cradley to join local rivals Causeway United having played just three times for the Beeches View Avenue side.
