HALAS Hawks under 10s East started the season with a 3-2 defeat at Bilbrook despite a spirited fightback from two goals down.

Goals came from Dan Kelly and Jordan Cronin.

The U10s West went down 2-0 to Gornal West, while the U11s West started their eleven a side campaign with a battling draw against Trysull, despite only having ten players. The goal came from Cameron Milne.

The U12s never recovered from starting their game against Gornal with 10 men, going down 6-0. Daniel Jennings won man of the match.

There was better news for the U13s East, who began their season in fine form beating newly promoted Netherton Colts 2-0. Goals arrived from Dan Willetts and Tom Wickstead. There were also pleasing debuts for Jack Bennett and new striker Macauley Totney.

The U15s were unlucky not to earn a point against Nunnery Jaguars but a last minute goal saw them lose 2-1, Scott Pope bagging the goal.

Fresh from their promotion into the second division, the U16s kicked off the season with a battling 3-0 win away to Forest Falcons East.

After soaking up the pressure of the first ten minutes, Halas won a corner from which Amin Ali scored his first goal from a header. Halas continued to battle and were rewarded with an absolutely stunning strike again from Amin Ali.

From then on Halas came close on several occasions before Amin Ali completed his hat-trick. Man of the match went to Ben Hancox for an outstanding display on the right wing.

An enthusiastic second half perfomance saw Dudley Town U10s come back from a half time defecit to win 2-1 over Gornal Colts North, with goals from Harry Whale and Lucas Johnson.

Brierley and Hagley Celtic started the season with a 2-0 win against Hasbury Rangers with an own goal and a strike from Richard Hanson. Man of match going to Sebastian Chater Forest Falcons U10s won 4-3 thanks to a hat-trick from Ben Brindley and a goal from Joel Atkins, with man of match going to Lewis Sidaway.

The U12s West lost a thriller 5-4 at home to Phoenix Youth West, Liam Smart hit a hat-trick and Miles Stamps also netted but it was not enough to prevent defeat.

Garrick Clinton bagged a brace and was named man-of-the-match as the U16s NSC won 5-2 away at Sedgley Scorpions, the other goals courtesy of James Bate, Thomas Reynolds and Jason Mokhuoa.

Phoenix Youth South Under 10's got their Division 1 campaign in the Stourbridge Youth League off to a winning start after comming from behind twice to beat Trysull Tigers 4 - 2.

Goals came from Brooke Price (2), Callum Williams and Edward Holland.

Brierley Hill Bullets U9s East got their campaign off to a disappointing start as they lost 4-3 to Warstone Wolves, though there was better news for U9 West who won 4-0 against Bearmore Knights.

The U10s drew 1-1 with Forest Falcons, the U11s West won 6-0 against Stourbridge Athletic and U11s North went down 7-1 to Inkberrow Eagles.

A cracking game saw the U11s lose 10-6 to Gornal North, while the U12s won 9-1 against West Hagley.

The U13s lost 8-2 against Old Wulfrunians, the U14s East drew 0-0 with Bustlehome Albion, the U14s West won 4-2 against Halas Hawkes and the U15s East won 8-2 against Castle Cobras.

Romsley Rangers U16 began the defence of their title at newly-promoted Brockmoor Badgers. Romsley dominated from the kick-off and ran out comfortable 7-0 winners, with five goals from Richard Smith and one each from Sean Hayward and Dane Hughes.

Black Country Rangers U11s drew 4-4 at home against Gornal Colts South in a thrilling contest.

Three goals up at half time and seemingly cruising to victory, Rangers ran out of steam second half and ended up hanging on for a point.

Goals were shared by Tom Cumberlidge, Adam Hadley and man of the match Ashley Cole who hit two superb strikes.

Wordsley Wasps U12s East won their opening match of the season with a hard fought 4-1 win over Ettingshall Juniors. After trailing 1-0 goals from Harry Shepherd, George Hingley, Sam Rogerson and Jordan Taylor sealed the win.

Pensnett Panthers U11's started the season with a 5-2 win over Kewford Eagles.

Ben Shaw bagged a brace while, Harry Allen, Josh Timmins and Wyatt Dunn were also on the scoresheet, Harry Allen taking man-of-the-match.

Danny Round, Luke Flavel and Richard Halford were the heroes as the U15s claimed a 3-0 win over Oldswinford, with Ryan Taylor the star performer.

The U16s were 3-1 winners over Perrywoods, Tom Woodall bagging a brace, though there was disappointment for the U17s who went down 6-1 at Duncan Edwards.
