TOM Bulteel stole the show as Old Halesonians HC hammered Aldridge and Walsall 7-3.

The striker struck four times for the hosts, who continued their impressive record of scoring in every game this season.

Bulteel fired home his first from a penalty corner to break the deadlock and Hales soon doubled their lead, when new signing Chris Hill fired in a rocket into the top corner past the stationary keeper.

Not to be outdone by his strike partner, Bulteel fired in Hales’ third within minutes with an almost identical effort.

The visitors pulled a goal back soon after but Paul Woodall restored the hosts’ three-goal cushion with a fourth just before the break.

A tactical change saw Hales assume greater dominance in the second-half and Bulteel soon grabbed his hat-trick when he was found by Doug Houghton.

Aldridge pulled another back but Bulteel made it six and Hill got his second of the game, before the visitors got a third to add more respectability to the score.

Hales have a tough away fixture next week as they travel to Tamworth.

There was disappointment for Hales Ladies who suffered a 10-1 thrashing at Droitwich — their biggest defeat of the season.

Their only consolation was a goal from Gemma Taylor.

The seconds had simply no luck as they lost a 4-3 thriller at Bridgnorth.

Hales fell two goals behind early on, with the first coming from a controversial penalty and the second a deflection.

Ashley Greaves pulled one back but the hosts restored their two goal cushion before the break and the second-half began with Greaves missing a chance to reduce the deficit from the spot.

Bridgnorth went further ahead when they got a fourth but Hales then mounted a comeback thanks to goals from Tom Bolton and Harry Hughes.

Despite battering the hosts in the closing stages, they couldn’t find an equaliser.

There was also disappointment for the thirds, who lost 6-3 at Lichfield despite goals from Matt Harrold, Deck Glaze and Damian Shackleton.

The fourths drew 1-1 with Edgbaston, with the fifths held 3-3 by Hampton and the Badgers winning 2-1 at Streetly.

More woe followed for the Ladies seconds however, as they lost 7-0 to Kidderminster.
